Dental Crowns in Gonzales, TX

Protect Your Tooth, Restore Your Smile

A dental crown is one of the most common and most reliable restorations in dentistry — protecting a damaged or compromised tooth, restoring its strength, and returning it to full function. At Smiles of Gonzales, we place crowns with the same standard regardless of how they’re made: precise fit, natural appearance, and a result built to last.

What Sets Our Dental Crown Work Apart

Precision, technology, and experience:

  • CEREC same-day crown technology available in-house — for eligible cases, your permanent crown is designed, milled, and placed in a single appointment
  • High-strength dental ceramic matched precisely to your natural tooth shade — whether same-day or lab-crafted
  • Three doctors, decades of combined experience, and a practice that has called Gonzales home since 1989 — your crown is placed by someone who stands behind it
  • Private practice environment — unhurried, thorough, attentive to fit and bite
  • We work with most PPO dental insurance plans, offer financing options, and provide an in-house membership plan — crown work is more affordable than most patients expect

For many cases, your permanent porcelain crown is designed, milled, and placed in a single appointment —

no temporary, no waiting, one round of anesthesia.

What Makes CEREC Same Day Crowns Different

Traditional Crown

  • 2 appointments
  • Temporary crown for 2–3 weeks
  • Putty mold impression
  • 2–3 weeks lab wait
  • 2 rounds of anesthesia
  • Permanent porcelain crown

CEREC Same-Day Crown

  • 1 appointment
  • No temporary needed
  • Digital scan
  • Milled in-office same day
  • 1 round of anesthesia
  • Permanent porcelain crown

The clinical quality of a CEREC crown is excellent — high-strength dental ceramic precisely milled to the digital specifications of your tooth, matched to your natural shade, bonded with the same care and technique as any lab restoration. What changes is your experience, your schedule, and the number of times you have to take time out of your day.

When a Dental Crown Is the Right Recommendation

We recommend crowns when a tooth has reached the point where a filling won't provide adequate structural support. Specific situations include:

  • A tooth with decay too extensive for a filling to reliably restore
  • A cracked tooth, where the crown holds the crack and prevents fracture
  • After root canal treatment, when the tooth needs full-coverage protection
  • Severely worn teeth from grinding or acid erosion
  • A tooth being used as an anchor for a dental bridge
  • Cosmetic situations where shape, size, or color needs more correction than a veneer provides

We don't recommend crowns lightly. When we suggest one, we explain exactly why — and we show you the imaging.

What a CEREC Crown Looks Like

We select the ceramic shade and translucency that most closely matches your surrounding natural teeth. The on-screen design process allows us to customize every contour, contact point, and edge before the crown is milled — so the fit is precise and the appearance is natural. Most patients — and most people who know those patients — cannot identify which tooth is crowned.

Long-Term Care of Dental Crowns

Treat it like a natural tooth: brush, floss, and keep your regular cleaning appointments. The crown itself doesn't decay, but the tooth beneath it and the gumline around it require ongoing attention. If you grind at night, a custom night guard protects the crown and surrounding teeth from excess wear.

Whether your crown is planned or unexpected, Dr. Gloria Haug, Dr. Janice Weinman, and Dr. Janelle Leon-Weinman are ready to take care of it — with the experience, the technology, and the unhurried attention your tooth deserves.

We serve patients from Gonzales, Seguin, Cuero, Shiner, Yoakum, Luling, Schulenburg, Hallettsville, and communities throughout this part of Texas. Call us to schedule or request your appointment online.
